Legal jobs for lawyers and conveyancers A straight answer on your next move.
Twenty minutes on the phone, in confidence. If there is nothing worth moving for, we will say so. We never send your CV anywhere without your say so, and we never charge you.

In short
Wilson Mannion finds legal roles for lawyers and conveyancers, from trainee to partner. A 20-minute confidential call costs you nothing, we show the salary and working pattern up front, and your CV goes to a firm only with your yes. If nothing is worth moving for, we will say so.
Junior: trainee to around 3 years PQE
Your first move matters more than it looks.
The wrong firm can cost you a year of supervision and progression that you do not get back. We help you ask the questions that tell you what a role is really like. Who supervises you? How many files will you carry? What does progression look like in writing? What did the last person in this role do next?
Senior: 5+ years PQE, heads of department, partners
You know your market value. Here is the rest.
What you may not know is who is hiring, who is quietly struggling to keep people, and what the firm down the road is actually paying. We tell you, in confidence. We also tell you when staying is the better call, and we will talk you through a counter-offer before you accept one.
Before you move
Is the move worth making?
A pay rise on paper can be a pay cut once the commute, the hours and the bonus are counted. Put in both packages and see.

Questions lawyers ask.
Straight answers.
Does it cost me anything?
No. We are paid by the firm. By law a recruitment agency cannot charge you for finding you work, and we would not want to.
Will you send my CV without asking?
Never. You agree each application first, and you see the role and the firm before we name you.
Will my current firm find out?
Not from us. Your name and your employer stay with us until you have said yes to a specific role.
Do you have remote and hybrid roles?
Yes. Every advert shows the working pattern and the salary.
What should I ask a recruiter before I send my CV?
Five things. Which firm it is. What the pay band is. What the working pattern is, in days. What the job actually involves, including the caseload and who supervises. And who will see your CV, and when. If a recruiter will not answer those by email, ask yourself why. Ask us all five.
Why do some recruiters not name the firm?
Sometimes the firm has asked for confidentiality. Sometimes it is habit. Either way, you should know where your CV is going before it goes, and you can say you will wait for a name. We tell you the firm before we send anything.
How many files is too many in a conveyancing role?
There is no official number. It depends on the work, the systems and whether there is an assistant. Ask how many live files a fee earner carries, and ask for the number, not a description. A role that will not say may be a role that is stretched.
Should I take a counter-offer?
Only if it fixes the reason you started looking, in writing, with a date. If you were leaving over supervision, caseload or how the firm treats people, a pay rise leaves the problem where it was. We wrote a longer answer on counter-offers in Insights.
How do I know an advert is a real job?
Look for the pay band, the working pattern, the date it was posted and a description of the work. An advert with none of those that keeps running is worth a question. Ours show the pay and the working pattern, and you can ask us about the firm on a call.
Can I use more than one recruiter?
Yes. Keep a note of which firms each one has spoken to, so your CV does not reach a firm twice, and tell each recruiter you are doing it.
Can I speak to you confidentially if I am not actively looking?
Yes. Many of the lawyers we speak to are not actively looking, and that is a fine place to start. The call is confidential: your name and your employer stay with us, nothing goes anywhere without your yes, and you can ask what is out there and walk away.
What areas of law do you recruit for?
Conveyancing, development and new build, and commercial property and real estate are where we are deepest, alongside private client, real estate and property litigation, and housing and regeneration. We also recruit across the wider legal market, including corporate and commercial, litigation, family, employment and criminal defence. If your area is not listed, ask. If we cannot help, we will say so.
How do you decide which opportunities are right for me?
We start with you: what you want, what you will not accept and what went wrong last time. Then we check each role against it: the pay, the working pattern, who supervises, the caseload and how the firm treats its people. You see the role and the firm before anyone sees your CV, and if nothing fits, we say so.
What support will I receive throughout the process?
You will get tailored advice with an honest overview of the market, how the opportunities actually solve your situation, and coaching around interviews and how to handle difficult situations.
