The level of the role. An assistant, a fee earner on their own caseload and a head of department are three different jobs with three different pay lines, even under one title.
Where it is. London roles pay more in some areas. The guide shows £70,000 for conveyancing in London, and £65,000 to £175,000 for corporate commercial.
Caseload and supervision. A role with a team to run, or a large caseload to carry, usually pays more than one without. Ask how many files and who you would supervise.
Bonus and benefits. A salary line is not the whole package. Ask what part of the bonus is fixed and what part is discretionary, and what the benefits are worth to you.
Working pattern. Hybrid and remote change what a role is worth to you more than what it pays. Ask what "hybrid" means in days.
How to read this guide.
Published ranges come from the Ten Percent Legal Salary Guide, July 2026, published 23 July 2026. Salaries that law firms have indicated to that recruiter, for solicitors with 3 or more years PQE. Not a survey, and not Wilson Mannion's data. Housing, planning and residential new build have no line in that guide, so they have no published range here. Where our adverts show a salary in those areas, you will see it on the practice-area pages.
Official range for conveyancers. The National Careers Service gives an average of £25,000 for a starter, up to £65,000 for an experienced licensed conveyancer. Source: National Careers Service: licensed conveyancer.
Our live adverts update by themselves as we post and close roles. Every one shows its salary and working pattern. See them all on the jobs page.
The published ranges were last checked against their source on 20 October 2026. They are a guide, not a quotation, and not advice. For what a conveyancer earns and how people qualify, see our article.
Questions about legal pay.
Straight answers.
What does a conveyancer earn in the UK?
The National Careers Service gives an average of £25,000 for a starter, rising to £65,000 for an experienced licensed conveyancer. A July 2026 recruiter guide shows £45,000 to £75,000 for conveyancing solicitors with three or more years PQE. The adverts we are running today are shown beside both on this page.
Where do these figures come from?
Two places. The published ranges come from the Ten Percent Legal Salary Guide, July 2026, which lists salaries law firms have indicated to that recruiter. The adverts come from our own live roles and update as we post and close them. Neither is a survey.
Does Wilson Mannion publish salaries?
Yes. Every advert we run shows the pay and the working pattern. If a salary is wrong for the role, we say so before you apply.
How do I find out what I am worth?
Compare your pay with the live adverts and the ranges here, then talk to someone who knows your role. A 20-minute confidential call costs nothing, and nothing is sent anywhere without your say so.
Want the number for your role?
Pick a time that suits you. A 30-minute discovery meeting for firms, a 20-minute confidential call for lawyers.
