This established conveyancing practice is looking for a qualified residential property lawyer to join its senior leadership team. You’ll influence business strategy, strengthen legal quality and develop the people delivering it, with the autonomy to put your recommendations into practice.
The role combines strategic leadership with hands-on technical involvement. Alongside responsibility for legal governance and compliance, you’ll support colleagues with complex matters and step into files when an issue needs your expertise.
What’s different about this role
A leadership role with practical influence: you’ll work alongside senior decision-makers on the direction of the business. Your judgement will inform how the practice grows, manages risk and delivers its legal services.
An established foundation you can build on: you’ll join a practice with existing processes, a conveyancing manager and dedicated onboarding and post-completion support. Your remit is to strengthen that operation and help it develop further.
Technical leadership and people development: the conveyancing manager oversees fee earners’ day-to-day management, giving your role a wider focus on legal standards, training and technical support. You’ll help colleagues build confidence and judgement while remaining involved in complex legal work.
Investment behind the growth plans: the business is investing in technology and working systems to improve the experience for employees and clients. You’ll have the opportunity to help shape how those changes translate into better legal delivery.

The work
- Take responsibility for the firm’s legal practice, regulatory compliance and professional standards.
- Shape legal governance, policies and risk management, overseeing regulatory audits and complaints where required.
- Provide technical guidance, support complex transactions and step into files when needed.
- Develop colleagues through training, coaching and practical legal support.
- Work with senior leaders to improve service delivery, client outcomes and sustainable growth.
What we’re looking for
- A qualified residential property lawyer (Solicitor, CILEx or CLC) with significant conveyancing experience.
- Proven leadership experience within a legal environment.
- Strong knowledge of conveyancing regulation, compliance and risk management, with the credentials to take responsibility for the firm’s legal practice.
- A willingness to remain hands-on with complex matters and operational issues.
- Commercial judgement and the confidence to influence senior colleagues, challenge constructively and develop others.
