Salary: Fee-sharing consultancy — retain 60% of fees on work you introduce and handle yourself; no fixed salary
Location: UK — remote working, optional London office access; overseas-based applicants considered
Residential Conveyancing Lawyer, remote UK consultancy. No fixed salary; retain 60% on self-generated, self-handled work, with paralegal support and holiday cover.
Build your own conveyancing practice with the flexibility of consultancy and a team you can turn to for technical guidance, practical support and holiday cover.
Our client offers a route for qualified residential property lawyers who have client relationships or a credible plan to develop them, but would value support as they move into consultancy. You retain 60% of fees on work you bring in and handle yourself, with freedom to shape your hours and work remotely.
Already a consultant? This could also suit you if access to an experienced paralegal, technical input and colleagues who can cover your files would make a meaningful difference to how you work.
What’s different about this role
- Support with the administration around your files. An experienced paralegal can assist with engagement letters, file opening, post-completion and other non-legal tasks, giving you more time for clients and legal work.
- Technical guidance when you need it. You will have access to an experienced property lawyer for questions and second opinions, with overall supervision but without micromanagement.
- Cover when you take time away. Holiday cover can be arranged within the team, helping you plan breaks with someone looking after your matters.
- Flexibility over where and how much you work. Remote working and flexible hours are central to the arrangement, with optional office access and overseas working considered.
- Help developing your practice. You can work with the team on a business plan and joint business development, building on your own contacts and client relationships.
What’s in it for you
- A 60% consultant share of fees on work you introduce and complete yourself. Other work arrangements have different fee-sharing terms.
- Flexibility to shape your hours and work on a full-time or part-time basis.
- Remote working, with access to a London office if useful.
- The ability to work from overseas.
- Paralegal, administrative, IT and accounting support.
- Technical guidance and arranged holiday cover.
This is a fee-sharing consultancy: earnings depend on the work you generate and complete.
The Work
- Handle residential conveyancing matters in England and Wales.
- Develop and maintain your own client relationships and referral network.
- Deliver technically sound advice and manage your matters with autonomy, within the team’s supervision arrangements.
- Work collaboratively on business planning and opportunities to develop new client markets.
- Use a browser-based system combining case management and accounts.
What We’re Looking For
- A solicitor, licensed conveyancer or qualified legal executive authorised to undertake the relevant work under the England and Wales jurisdiction.
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in residential conveyancing.
- An existing client following, useful referral contacts or a credible ability to build your own business.
- The ability to manage matters independently while recognising when to seek a second opinion.
- A collaborative approach to client development and working within a team.
International client connections and additional language skills are welcome, but neither is essential.
The Culture
You will have room to develop your own practice while staying connected to a team. The arrangement combines day-to-day autonomy with access to technical advice, practical file support and colleagues who can provide cover when you are away.
